Bridging the Baltic Sea. Networks of Resistance and Opposition during the Cold Was Era”
Institutet för Rysslands- och Eurasienstudies (IRES) vid Uppsala universitet bjuder in medlemmar i Sverigeesternas Riksförbund till en boklansering av en nyligen publicerad bok “Bridging the Baltic Sea. Networks of Resistance and Opposition during the Cold War Era”. Boken, författad av Dr. Lars Fredrik Stöcker, historiker och forskare vid universitetet i Wien, undersöker bland annat den estniska diasporans motståndsnätverk under kallakrigstiden.
Evenemanget kommer att hållas på engelska i Gyllenhielmska biblioteket på Skytteanum i Uppsala och åtföljs av ett informellt mingel. Boken och presentationen kommenteras av Professor Li Bennich-Björkman (Uppsala universitet).

Welcome Welcome to an IRES book launch where Dr. Lars Fredrik Stöcker will present his recently published book on transnational dimension of resistance and opposition to the communist regimes in Central and Eastern Europe by Polish and Estonian diaspora in Sweden. The presentation will be followed by an informal mingle. Lars Fredrik Stöcker holds a PhD in history from the European University Institute in Florence. He is currently working as a researcher and coordinator of the doctoral college “Austrian Galicia and Its Multicultural Heritage” at the University of Vienna.
