Running time: 109 minutesPAUL (13), after yet another fight with his father, is forced to move in with his uncle AIVAR (32) for a few days. However, those few days turn into several weeks. In the unfamiliar small town, Paul joins a local gang led by the violent JASPER (14). Paul meets a strange man with a disability, FRANK, and an unusual friendship starts to develop between them, though Paul is reluctant to admit this to the other boys. Paul finds his place in the gang by drinking beer, smoking, and sniffing glue with the others. To solidify his position, he cruelly pours a bucket of paint over Frank at Jasper’s command. His status improves, but deep down, the act continues to torment him. He starts meeting Frank, and slowly, trust begins to build between them. Jasper discovers Paul’s affection for Frank, who is shunned by the other boys, and publicly ridicules Paul in front of the entire gang. To save his reputation, Paul reveals Jasper’s secret. This destroys Jasper’s authority. Along with the emotional abuse from his unstable father, Jasper now has to endure the humiliation from his former friends. Paul becomes the new leader of the gang, but when Paul accidentally poisons one of the boys with glue, he is threatened with being sent to a school for troubled children as punishment. Meanwhile, Paul’s mother reappears. Already broken, Paul sinks into a deep depression. Humiliated and cornered, Jasper seeks revenge on Paul. When Frank saves Paul’s life as he is on the brink of death, Paul finally begins to understand what he must do to find peace within himself and with those around him.
